Privacy Policy


Softwood Limited, trading as Housar ("Housar", "us", "our", "we") take the privacy of your information very seriously. Housar offers a program which allows Merchants to provide loyalty plans and rewards directly to Customers through a smartphone application ("Services"), and provides Merchants with programs and applications to track consumers' use thereof (the "Applications") (together, the Application and Services are called the "Program"). This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") explains how and for what purposes we use the information collected about you ("You", "you", "Your", "your") via our Program. Please read this Policy carefully. By downloading the Application, or accessing and/or using any portion of the Program, you agree to be bound by this Policy in respect of the information collected about you via this Program. Where the definition of a term does not appear in this Policy (such as "Listing", "Events", "Content" etc.), it shall be given its definition as outlined in our Terms of Service ( "Personal Information" is information that can be directly associated with a specific person or entity

Personal information collected

(a) Information we receive from you.

To use certain features of Housar's Program, you'll need to provide certain Personal Information which may include, without limitation, your name, address, birthday, some basic security information, phone number, credit card information, Facebook and/or Twitter user names, e-mail address, password, any purchases you make through the Program, any use of loyalty rewards or plans that Housar makes available, any Customer actions with respect to participating Merchants (including making purchases or checking-in at the Merchant's listed event), information regarding your cell phone or mobile device, communication with Housar and other information.

(b) Mobile Data

When you use certain features of the Program, in particular our mobile applications we may collect, store and process different types of information about your actual location. We may also use various technologies to determine location, some of which may be made available through third party licensors, including general information (e.g., IP address) and more specific information (e.g., GPS-based functionality on mobile devices used to access the Program). If you access the Program through a mobile device and you do not want your device to provide us with location-tracking information, you can disable the GPS or other location-tracking functions on your device, provided your device allows you to do this.

(c) Log Data

In order for Housar to ensure that we are providing the best possible Customer experience within the Program, we collect and track certain user information. We may collect, store and process Log Data, which is information that is automatically recorded by our servers whenever you access or use the Program, regardless of whether you are registered with Housar or logged in to your Housar account, such as your IP Address, the date and time you access or use the Program, the hardware and software you are using, referring and exit pages, the number of taps, pages viewed and the order of those pages, and the amount of time spent on particular pages.

(d) Information from surveys.

You may have the option of completing a survey at the Website or via email or within the Program from time to time. Participation in surveys is completely voluntary and it is your choice whether or not you wish to disclose your personal information to us in connection with any such survey.

(e) Third-party integration

Housar may also collect information posted by users on third-party companies, such as social media sites for users that have opted to connect to or otherwise link Housar with social media accounts including Facebook and Twitter. We treat this data as non-personal information for purposes of providing the Services, except where we are required to treat it as personal information under applicable law.

We will use and process this information in order to:

(a) enable you to access and use the Program;

(b) ensure that content from our Program is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your mobile or other relevant hardware.

(c) operate, protect, improve and optimize the Program, Housar's business, and our users' experience, such as to perform analytics, conduct research, and for advertising and marketing;

(d) carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us.

(e) allow you to participate in interactive features of our Program, when you choose to do so.

(f) notify you about changes to our service.

(g) to send you service, support and administrative messages, reminders, technical notices, updates, security alerts, and information requested by you;

(h) market and advertise relevant products and services. This may include Housar and our partners sending you information about products and services that will be relevant to you, by email, mobile messaging, postal mail or direct telephone contact. All of the above are subject to your stated preferences; we and our content partners will always make it clear how you can prevent such marketing or communications i.e. opt-out of these uses.

(i) administer rewards, surveys, sweepstakes, contests, or other promotional activities or events sponsored or managed by Housar or our business partners; and

(j) comply with our legal obligations, resolve any disputes that we may have with any of our users, and enforce our agreements with third parties. Although it is not compulsory to give us this information, if you do not then you cannot register as a member of the Program or make a purchase or check-in to collect any loyalty rewards for event listings with our Merchants. Information you enter at the Website and/or Program (i) will be shared with the Merchants or third party service providers with which Housar has entered into a business relationship in order to provide the Services, and (ii) may be shared with various third parties in connection with making available to you certain offers (which offers may be based on or related to your location at the time the offer is made available to you).

How to change or delete your information

You may review, update, correct or delete the Personal Information in your Housar account by logging in to your account. If you would like to cancel your Housar account entirely, you can do so by logging in to your account. Housar may alter, modify or delete any information you submit through the Program if it believes, in its sole discretion, it is necessary or desirable to do so. Please also note that any reviews, forum postings and similar materials posted by you may continue to be publicly available on the Program in association with your first name, even after your Housar account is cancelled.


The Website and/or Application may contain links to other websites or applications that are owned and operated by third parties that are not affiliated with us. We cannot be responsible for the privacy policies and practices of other sites even if you access them using links from our Program and recommend that you check the Policy of each site you visit and contact its owner or operator if you have any concerns or questions. In addition, if you linked to our Website or Program from a third party, we cannot be responsible for the privacy policies and practices of the owners or operators of that third party site and/or Application. We encourage you to review the Policy of any other website or application you visit and contact its owner or operator if you have any concerns or questions. Transferring your information outside of Europe As part of the services offered to you through the Program, we may transfer, store, use and process your information, including any Personal Information, to countries outside of the European Economic Area ("EEA") including the United States. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. Please note that laws vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, and so the privacy laws applicable to the places where your information is transferred to or stored, used or processed in, may be different from the privacy laws applicable to the place where you are resident.

Updates and Changes

We reserve the right, at any time, to add to, change, update, or modify this Policy, simply by posting such change, update, or modification on the Website and/or Program and without any other notice to you. Any such change, update, or modification will be effective immediately upon posing on the Site. It is your responsibility to review this Policy from time to time to ensure that you continue to agree with all of its terms.


If you do not agree to the terms of this Policy, please do not provide us with any information and do not use the Website or the Program. By using the Website or the Program and voluntarily providing information to us, you consent to our collection and use of the information as set forth in this Policy.
